About the Role Talent Focus are recruiting for an exciting Middle Leadership Role. The opportunity exists for an experienced educator to lead English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) and whole-school literacy initiatives within a Catholic secondary school in Brisbane. This role is responsible for supporting multilingual learners and students developing English proficiency, as well as those requiring additional literacy support. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with leaders and teachers to embed inclusive, evidence-based literacy practices across the curriculum and enhance student outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead the EAL/D program, including student identification, language assessment, and targeted interventions Support the implementation of effective literacy practices across all subject areas Provide guidance and coaching to teachers on EAL/D strategies and inclusive pedagogy Analyse and use student data to inform planning, track progress, and support NCCD requirements Contribute to and deliver professional learning focused on literacy and multilingual learners Collaborate with faculty leaders, classroom teachers, and support staff to ensure equitable access to learning Support the monitoring and progress of international students and liaise with relevant stakeholders Assist with documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements related to EAL/D and literacy Maintain current knowledge of best practice in EAL/D, TESOL, and literacy education Contribute to the broader life and mission of the school Teaching Component This position includes a teaching load across Years 7–12 Specific timetable and subject allocation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and expertise About You You are a passionate and collaborative educator with a strong commitment to inclusive education and improving literacy outcomes for all students. You bring: Relevant teaching qualifications and current teacher registration Experience in EAL/D, TESOL, literacy, or working with multilingual learners Proven ability to support differentiated teaching and learning practices Strong interpersonal and communication skills Experience using data to inform teaching and intervention strategies The ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a dynamic school environment A commitment to ongoing professional learning Desirable Postgraduate qualifications in EAL/D, TESOL, or Literacy Experience in a leadership role or leading school-based initiatives Experience delivering professional learning to staff School Context & Ethos This role is based within a Catholic secondary school community.
